1990s
In 1997, after a 35 year career in education, Keyser stopped teaching at the School for American Crafts at RIT because he felt there was something very important he needed to do next in his career, although he didn't yet know what that would be. Soon after his decision he began a gradual transition from furniture to sculpture and fine art, discovering a love for painting along the way.
